The aim of this study is to know the development of 18 character values which done by civic education lecturers of Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto through the learning activity. This research is descriptive qualitative that has been helded on 11 faculties and 30 departements in Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto. The respondents are all of civic education lecturers of Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto. The Data collection of this study was thorugh depth interview. The data analysis by data reductions, data display, and conclusions drawing. The conclusion is to embed the character value into the students through civic education by applying a variety of methods have to adapted to the type of students’ character which will embeding in. The civic education lesson should focused into students’ need. The lecturers of civic education should mastering the variety of lesson methods variatively, so that the lesson will not be monotonous and boring.
