The Effect of Project Based Learning with Learning Environment on Vocational School Learning

Abstract


This study aims to determine whether there is influence of project based learning and the learning environment on the learning outcomes of vocational students. Samples were taken using cluster random sampling technique. This study is a quasi-experimental involving a population of 142 students of class X Automotive of State Vocational High School 5 Surakarta in the 2018/2019 academic year. X Automotive A as an experimental group that applies project based learning, while X Automotive B as a control class. Data was collected using tests, questionnaires, and interviews about material for straight motion and circular motion. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis techniques using Univariate Analysis of Variance. The results of the study revealed that there was an influence of the interaction of learning models with the learning environment on student learning achievement. This shows that students who use the project based learning model, their learning environment is significantly more satisfying and pleasant with support from the teacher and a positive relationship between the teacher and students so that the learning outcomes increase
